Crossing
the Alps, Asti, Poets Gulf, Parma, Monaco |
Day
1: This day is dedicated to the Alps and a small
pass to get over to Italy and rejoin Asti using
winding roads across marvellous country sides. Asti
is located in the Piémont area mixing hills and
vineyards (from which the Asti Spumante and more
vines are produced). Among the very special places
in Asti one will consider the cathedral.
Day
2: A short ride to the sea side town of La Spezia,
located right in the middle of the Golfo dei Poeti
(Poets gulf), where you will enjoy the coast and
the beach for a nice rest.
Day
3: Riding is nice but a bit of culture and great
Cuisine is important too! Our target is the fantastic
city of Parma and its excellent ham and cheese as
well as its fantastic city. This is, after all,
the capital of Italy's famous "food valley" where
Prosciutto di Parma ham and Parmigiano-Reggiano
cheese reign supreme. Parma is nestled in the fertile
valley of the Po River in the heart of the richest
of all Italian provinces, the Emilia-Romagna. On
the way back to La Spezia the tour will take you
through more twisty roads.
Day
4: A day to enjoy the sea as the tour will come
back to the French Riviera along the Italian Mediterranean
coast. That part will allow you to enjoy all the
little Italian coastal villages, nestled in their
creeks, and climbing up the hills.
