Day
1: A ride from Saint-Raphaël to Parma enjoying
some of the Italian way of driving. Parma is a city
filled with charming streets and beautiful monuments
but the best souvenir will for sure be related to
food as the Parma ham, the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
and the locale cuisine are delicious.
Day
2: After a good rest it will be a quick ride
to Ancona where the ferry is awaiting the group
for an over-night sailing to Greece.
Day
3: In the morning, the Greek coast on the left
and the island of Corfu on the right, the port of
Igoumenista welcomes the ferry. Ready for a great
ride through Greece? Starting eastwards to Ioánnina
and Métsovo, a tiny mountain resort at the edge
of the Epire and Thessalie regions. A nice twisty
road will then take us to Kalambaka at the feet
of the Meteor monasteries.
Day
4: A ride along the Meteors, monastries build
on the top of huge rock hills, starts the day before
going down south by Lamia to reach Delphes sitting
by the Parnasse mounts. Delphes is quite famous
for its Apollon sanctuary and its theatre, which
you may want to visit.
Day
5 : The road passes by the Parnasse Mountain
and goes south east towards Athens. On the way we
will see monuments like Aliartos, Erithres, Inoi
etc…
Day
6 : A whole day of rest in Athens. You are free
to organise your day as you want. Visit the modern
part of the town or some more oriental looking parts
? Visit the roman, Byzantine or neo-classic ruins?
Your call! Of course it is a must to visit the Acropolis!
Day
7 : Outside of Athens stands Elefsina. Right
after, before going south, a short ride to the Ireon
Cape is a must. From the Corinth gulf the tour will
go south the part of Greece called the Péloponnèse.
We wont miss Epidavros and its theatre. The end
of the day will be a short ride to get to Nafplio.
Day
8 :Ready for a new jump through history ? Lets
get to Mycènes to see the ruins. Right after comes
Tripoli. Back for some pleasant riding along the
Oros mount and through places like Levidi and Dimitsana,
old medieval city, before getting to Vasses and
admire the ruins. As the day is still young time
for some sport and a ride to Olympia along the coast.
Day
9 : Having tested your athletic skills in the
Olympia stadium lets ride up north to the Chlemoutsi
castle (biggest and best maintained one in the region)
before getting to Patra where the ferry is waiting.
Day
10 : The first task of the day is to relax on
the ferry. Arriving in Ancona by early afternoon
a short ride will take us to Maranello…sounds familiar?
Red cars? Why not pay a visit to Ferrari? Before
getting back to Parma.
Day
11 : The last day of the tour is about getting
home to Saint-Raphaël while having some fun on Italian
roads (there are some lovely and funny passes on
the way home!).
